About Us

n the 1930s, Lou German moved his family to Peoria, Illinois from Paducah, Kentucky in hopes of finding work. Lou followed his dream of selling farm equipment in the spring of 1940 by opening his own shop, L.E. German Implement Company.

Lou’s son, Chuck, began to take a larger role in the company during the 1950s. He obtained the Ford Tractor franchise, opened a new branch in Peoria, became a State of Illinois certified truck testing facility, and recognized the potential of selling Kubota tractors which enabled the company to become the oldest and largest Kubota dealer in Illinois.

L.E. German Implement Company continued to expand and opened another branch in East Peoria, Illinois. Meanwhile, Chuck German was honored by being
elected the President of the North American Equipment Dealers Association.

Chuck’s considerable leadership skills led to the purchase of Bliss Implement Company forming German-Bliss Equipment. Now, German-Bliss Equipment has two locations in Princeville and East Peoria, Illinois. Greg German is the owner, CEO, and son of Chuck German. 2018 marks 78 years in business.

Today, German-Bliss Equipment is thriving by selling new and used agriculture and construction equipment as well as parts in-store and online. With big names like Kubota, Polaris, Exmark, Stihl, Land Pride, Bush Hog and many more, you can be sure they have a product to help get your job done. German-Bliss also has seasoned, lifelong technicians to service and repair almost any make and model of equipment.
